The ABC’s (and DEF’s) of Cam-Lok Fittings
Cam and Groove Couplings, or Cam-Lok fittings, are used to connect two hoses together in a multitude of industries. They’re easy to use, requiring no tools to connect and disconnect the two halves of the couplings.- just some man strength. They’re an extremely versatile product, and because there are no threads on the coupling halves, there are no issues with them becoming dirty or damaged. “I need an O-ring, and if you have one that’s just a little bit bigger, that would be great.” I hear this a lot from customers who come in with O-ring Boss fittings. What’s it off of?
If you’ve ever been to our shop to have a hose made, you know that’s a standard question we ask. Mostly it’s to open up conversation with a customer, give them a chance to talk about how hard the hose was to get off, talk about their equipment and the kind of work they do, etc. But, really, we’re looking for clues.
